Never Fake It
Peter John is a British designer, born into a working-class family in Derbyshire and now living and working in London.
Discovering art during a school trip to the Tate Modern at age 15, the chaos, tension, and violence he saw in Rebecca Horn’s “Concert for Anarchy” began Peters lifelong fascination with art, design, and performance.
Peter’s path was far from linear. Before launching the studio, he served 12 years in the British military. These years exposed him to diverse cultures and ways of living which would go on to strongly influence his future in design.
After leaving the military, Peter moved to London. It was there, during a photoshoot, that he met Kenny Brannan, a freelance creative. A friendship took root—fuelled by mutual passions for art, music, and lived experience of underground culture. What began as an exchange of ideas in 2019 became a reality in 2023 with Studio Peter John.

The final product is wearable, versatile, effortless, and made for real people. We don’t have any branding tricks, we make clothing that we want to wear.

Rooted in integrity and the team’s way of life. We revisit designs that have never gone out of style, and create them using fabrics and materials that get better with age. Our clothing is clean, but not made for clean cut people. It’s made to be thrown on, worn effortlessly, every day, for any occasion. Worn, washed and used.
